English The most-booked tour · from €83
A Golden Circle and northern lights tour from Reykjavík is two trips on one ticket: the day loop, back in town by early evening, then a night bus out of the city lights to look for the aurora. Four run from €127 to €189 per adult, from late August to mid-April. No one can promise the lights; three of the four let you join the night tour again free if they don't show.

1 / 3Four combo tours with reviews pair the Golden Circle with a night aurora tour. They differ in what happens if the sky stays dark, whether Kerið or a lagoon is on the day, and how many people have reviewed them. Choose what matters most to you to see the tour that fits, why it fits, what to keep in mind and the alternative. Prices are per adult.

Keep in mind: One guest found the stop at Þingvellir short, about 30 minutes; another says the night tour went out under cloud and a full moon.

The day tour runs first and brings you back to Reykjavík in the late afternoon or early evening. You then have one and a half to three hours for dinner before the night bus leaves, at 20:30–22:00 depending on the tour and the month, and drives out of the city lights. The night tour takes around three hours, so expect to be back around midnight or 01:00.

The aurora needs a dark, clear sky and enough solar activity, and no tour can promise all three. Three of the four combos say you can join the night tour again free if you see nothing; the most-reviewed one does not say. Night tours are also cancelled for weather. Book the combo early in your stay so a second night is still possible.

“We were so lucky to have a fantastic show from the lights. Wrap up warm!”
“Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate, so the northern lights tour was also cancelled.”
“There were people who were disappointed because the northern lights were barely visible to the naked eye.”
“We wouldn’t see them due to low KP, high cloud cover and a full moon, but they went ahead anyway.”
Verified GetYourGuide reviews, shortened. All four guests rated the tour 5 stars; three of them did not see a good show.
A combo puts both trips on one ticket and one long day, which suits a short stay. Booking the Golden Circle alone, from €78, and a separate aurora tour lets you pick the night by the forecast and rest in between. If you have three or more nights in Reykjavík, the second way gives the sky more chances.
Combo prices: GetYourGuide, Nov 2026. Night tours sold on their own are not compared here.
The four combos cost €127 to €145 per adult from a meeting point, or €147–159 with pickup; the Secret Lagoon combo is €189 with pickup and the lagoon entry included. Private tours with the lights cost €1,200–1,490 per car, but none has a review yet.
